Arabidopsis thaliana plants were illuminated with far-red or blue light to induce respectively state 1 and state 2. The fluorescence decay kinetics was analysed to see which fraction of the excitation energy went to photosystem I vs photosystem II. Single chloroplasts were imaged in state 1 and state 2 to investigate the redistribution of excitation energy and the thylakoid macro-organisation.
