In-plane shear deformation plays an important role during (press) forming of unidirectional thermoplastic composite. This dataset presents the results and analysis from bias extension measurements on cross-ply specimens to characterize the in-plane shear behavior at forming conditions. The materials' response captured in this characterization can be used as input for subsequent process simulations. Additional data was captured and analyzed to study the deformations that occurred during testing. Two commercial materials were tested at three temperatures above the melting temperature of the polymer and using three different rates.
