             Description
---------------------------------------

This data describes experimental results of cork particles in a dry and liquid-filled rotating drum, obtainted through Magnetic Particle Tracking (MPT). Measurements include:

  - 2 interstitual media (air/water)
  - 2 filling degrees (600/800 particles)
  - 4 drum speeds (20/40/60/80 RPM)

Files are named as follows:

  [bed state]_[filling degree]_[drum speed]_[experiment date]_[data type].txt

For each experiment, 3 files are present:

  -- ..tracer_data.txt
This file contains the tracer position and orientation recorded over time. The position is centered at the drum center, its axis oriented along the y-axis. Low-quality datapoints are omitted.
  -- ..velocity_field.txt
This file contains the time-averaged particle velocity field, binned along the xz-plane.
  -- ..angular_velocity.txt
This file contains the time-averaged particle angular velocity field, binned along the xz-plane.

All files are tab-separated ASCII text files, units are indicated within the files. NaN (not a number) is used to indicate measurements for which the tracer position could not be resolved. For a detailed description of the MPT processing procedure, the reader is referred to the accompanied article.
