This folder contains all the files and scripts used to generate the results of the paper:
"Efficient wave analysis in multi-layered locally resonant metamaterials: A semi-analytical approach integrating dynamic homogenization", X. Kuci, M.G.D. Geers, V.G. Kouznetsova, International Journal of Solids and Structures, 2025.

Folder Structure:
1) COMSOL_Models/: This directory contains all COMSOL Multiphysics models (v5.4) that were used for the simulations and validation results shown in the paper.
2) MATLAB_Code/: This contains all MATLAB code related to the multilayered analysis for enriched LRAM continua, including the implementation of the transfer matrix method.

The original code used for the enriched continuum analysis is from:
Sridhar, Ashwin; Liu, Lei; Kouznetsova, Varvara; Geers, Marc (2024): MATLAB scripts of the paper "Homogenized enriched continuum analysis of acoustic metamaterials with negative stiffness and double negative effects". Version 1. 4TU.ResearchData. dataset. https://doi.org/10.4121/f131341d-0fa7-4705-a966-233ad4795171.v1

All modifications and additions have been built on top of this codebase.

Use:
Run startUpAnalysis.m first to include all needed functions and files.
1) For the Enriched Continuum analysis, run unitcellAnalysis.m in the Dispersion_analysis folder. Save the homogenized parameters in a .mat file to use later for multilayered analysis.
2) For Impedance Tensor analysis, run ImpedanceTensorLRAM.m
3) For transmission analysis in multilayered setup, run Transmission_MultiLayered.m (can be used for arbitrary number of layers after definition, and acoustic or elastic incoming medium).
