We provide four datasets:

The datasets Data_Perkpolder_September2023 & Data_Marconi_September2023 both have five datasheets:
* Elevation
* Shear_strength_surface
* Shear_strength_depth
* Penetration resistance
* Sediment

The parameters of each datasheet are explained below.


*** Elevation ***

Tussock/Section: the tussock at Perkpolder (1-6) & the section at Marconi (E = 50%, F = 20%, G = 5%)
Location/Elevation: inside or outside the tussock at Perkpolder & the location at Marconi (high/mid marsh or bare flat)
Replicate: replicate A, B, D or D
X: latitude in RDNew coordinate system
Y: longitude in RDNew coordinate system
Z: elevation in m +NAP


*** Shear_strength_surface ***

Tussock/Section: the tussock at Perkpolder (1-6) & the section at Marconi (E = 50%, F = 20%, G = 5%)
Location/Elevation: inside or outside the tussock at Perkpolder & the location at Marconi (high/mid marsh or bare flat)
Replicate: replicate A, B, D or D
Reading_value: reading value of the torvane (to be multiplied with a fixed value depending on the extension used to obtain shear strength in kPa)


*** Shear_strength_depth ***

Tussock/Section: the tussock at Perkpolder (1-6) & the section at Marconi (E = 50%, F = 20%, G = 5%)
Location/Elevation: inside or outside the tussock at Perkpolder & the location at Marconi (high/mid marsh or bare flat)
Replicate: replicate A, B, D or D
Depth_cm: measurement depth [cm]
Reading_value: reading value of the shear vane (to be multiplied with 1 or 0.5 depending on the extension usedto obtain shear strength in kPa)


*** Penetration_resistance ***

Depth_cm: the measurement depth [cm]

The rest of the column headers indicate the tussock/section, location/elevation and replicate. Below are the penetration resistance values for each cm depth in N. 


*** Sediment ***

Tussock/Section: the tussock at Perkpolder (1-6) & the section at Marconi (E = 50%, F = 20%, G = 5%)
Location/Elevation: inside or outside the tussock at Perkpolder & the location at Marconi (high/mid marsh or bare flat)
Replicate: replicate A, B, D or D
Depth_from: upper boundary of the sampled sediment layer [cm]
Depth_to: lower boundary of the sampled sediment layer [cm]
WC: water content of the sediment sample [%]
BD_gcm3: bulk density of the sediment sample [g/cm3]
D50: median sediment grain size [microm]
fine fraction content (silt + clay, < 63 microm) [%]



The datasets FFF_data_Perkpolder & FFF_data_Marconi both have three datasheets:

*** Erosion datasheets ***

Tussock/Section: the tussock at Perkpolder (1-6) & the section at Marconi (E = 50%, F = 20%, G = 5%)
Location/Elevation: inside or outside the tussock at Perkpolder & the location at Marconi (high/mid marsh or bare flat)
Replicate: replicate A, B, D or D
Time: time after the start of water flow in the fast flow flume [hr]
Row: measurement line over the erosion test sample (A or B)
Measurement: measurement number in that measurement line (1-10)
Height: relative height of the erosion test sample [cm]
Erosion_calc: erosion depth with respect to t = 0 [cm], if the whole sample was eroded this parameter was set to 20 cm (original sample height)
Erosion: erosion depth with respect to t = 0 [cm], if Erosion_calc was larger than 20 this parameter was set to 20 cm (original sample height), as this likely resulted from a small measurement error


*** BGB ***

Tussock/Section: the tussock at Perkpolder (1-6) & the section at Marconi (E = 50%, F = 20%, G = 5%)
Location/Elevation: inside or outside the tussock at Perkpolder & the location at Marconi (high/mid marsh or bare flat)
Replicate: replicate A, B, D or D
Dry_weight_shells_g: dry weight of shells present in the subsample that was taken from the erosion test sample [g]
Dry_weight_roots_g: dry weight of roots present in the subsample that was taken from the erosion test sample [g]
BGB_kgm3: belowground biomass, calculated by dividing Dry_weight_roots_g by the volume of the sample [kg/m3]
