1. INTRODUCTION
The dataset consists of 223 csv files contained in discharge.zip and station_id.csv.The filename of CSV files in discharge.zip indicates the gauging station ID ('gaugingID_discharge_combined.csv) which was obtained obtained the Global Runoff Data Centre (GRDC) dataset (https://portal.grdc.bafg.de/). Each CSV file contains 6 columns:
- time: daily timestamp of discharge data
- Q_demand: simulated discharge was generated using a hydrological model that includes anthropogenic water abstraction for irrigation, domestic, industrial, and livestock use.
- Q_naturalized: simulated discharge was generated using a hydrological model without anthropogenic water abstraction.
- Q_wo_irri: simulated discharge was generated using a without irrigation water abstraction.
- Q_wo_nonirri: simulated discharge was generated using a hydrological model without nonirrigation water abstraction.
- Q_observed: observed discharge obtained from https://portal.grdc.bafg.de/

Additionally, the file station_id.csv provides metadata for each gauging station. It contains the following 6 columns:
- GRDC_ID: a unique identifier assigned by GRDC.
- River: the name of the river at the gauging station.
- Station: the name of the gauging station.
- Country: the country where the station is located.
- Latitude: the latitude of the station in decimal degrees.
- Longitude: the longitude of the station in decimal degrees.

2. METHODOLOGICAL INFORMATION
Simulated discharge data were obtained using the hydrological model wflow_sbm. A detailed description of the model setup can be found in the study "Improving realism of high-resolution hydrological modelling with anthropogenic water use: a study on the Rhine basin" which will be published.

3. DATA SPECIFIC INFORMATION
All values in the csv files are in m3/s. Missing data are indicated by -999.
