***General Introduction***
This dataset contains a synteny network of cell wall genes across 169 angiosperm genomes
The dataset was created during the PhD project of Francesco Pancaldi (2018-2022)
doi:10.4121/21564756
It is being made public both to act as supplementary data for publications and the PhD
thesis of Francesco Pancaldi, and in order for other researchers to use this data in their own
work.
The research within which this dataset was developed was made possible by a grant from EU Horizon 2020 scheme.

***Data structure***
The dataset reports the network depicting the syntenic relationships between all cell wall genes from 149 different gene families, across 169 genomes representing the evolutionary diversity of angiosperms.
The dataset has six total columns.
The first two columns report the direct syntenic relationships between pairs of cell wall genes
The remaining columns report the broad biological process and specific function of each gene from the first two columns, in the context of cell wall biology/biosynthesis.

***Methodology***
The network was created following the methodology described in the paper:
"Highly differentiated genomic properties underpin the different cell walls of Poaceae and eudicots", by Pancaldi et al.
