1. Abstract: This dataset is intended to support the findings of the publication "Supporting data belonging to the publication Aerodynamic characterisation of a thrust-scaled IEA 15 MW wind turbine model: Experimental insights using PIV data" by Fritz et al. (2024). It contains information regarding the planform of the blades used in the wind tunnel experiment, the logged operating conditions during the experiment, the PIV-processed flow fields, and the derived blade aerodynamics.

FILE OVERVIEW

1. BladeAerodynamics.zip: This folder contains data files describing various blade aerodynamic quantities. Each quantity is given by its mean value as well as the lower and upper bound of the 95% confidence interval as a function of the relative radius. The files are named as B<number of the blade>_<aerodynamic quantity>.dat.

2. BladePlanform.zip: This folder contains a data file describing the blade planform in terms of prebend, sweep, relative thickness (thickness over chord), chord, twist, and location of the pitch axis as a function of the absolute and relative radius.

3. FlowFields.zip: This folder contains data files describing the PIV pocessed flow fields. Each flow field is given in three files (one for each flow component U,V,W) and two files describing the locations in the measurement plane (X,Y). The files are named as B<number of the blade>_FlowField_r<relative radial position multiplied by a thousand>_<flow component/coordinate>.dat.

4. OperatingConditions.zip: This folder contains data files describing the operating conditions logged during the wind tunnel experiment. These are given in terms of atmospheric pressure, temperature, density of the air, inflow wind speed and rotor speed as a function of the radial position where measurements were taken. The files are named as B<number of the blade>_OperatingConditions.dat.
