This dataset supports a publication in Circular Economy and Sustainability (Springer) and includes data collected for a practice-based review exploring the relationship between circularity and the commons in urban contexts. The goal was to develop a conceptual framework for "circular commons" by analyzing empirical examples and selected case studies.

The dataset includes:

  1. Inventory of Circular Commons – A selected list of 156 empirical examples identified through a review of literature, exhibition catalogs, online platforms, academic sources, and media. The selection was based on three criteria: circularity, commoning, and urban context.
  2. Case Study Data – Data reviewed via desk research on 16 selected cases of circular commons.
  3. Case Study Analysis – A qualitative keyword analysis of the 16 cases of circular commons.
