This dataset contains experimental data accompanying a publication investigating the efficacy of wall-based forcing of a zero pressure gradient turbulent boundary layer. Streamwise periodic forcing is applied experimentally by a series of 48 spanwise running belts, where we investigate the variation of wavelength between its near-optimum (as per the literature), sub-optimum, and post-optimum value. Multi-camera 2D-2C particle image velocimetry measurements were employed in the streamwise-wall-normal plane (x-y), capturing two fields-of-view (FOV), at the initiation of forcing (FOV1) and downstream (FOV2) where the control is fully established.

All data underlying the figures, accompanied by the wind-tunnel conditions and relevant scaling parameters, such that they can be reproduced, will be published in .mat format for the individual figures. In addition, we publish the full dataset of the mean of the streamwise velocity component (U), and the higher-order streamwise (uu), streamwise-wall-normal (uv), and wall-normal (vv) Reynolds shear stresses, included in the data of fig7-8 and fig10

The dataset is published for reproducibility, comparison, and to allow for future studies by other investigators.
