Dataset

This dataset accompanies the upcoming publication “Exploring Transferability of Plastic–Water Hyacinth Interaction and Detection in Rivers.” It contains UAV (DJI Mavic 3 Enterprise) and GoPro imagery (Hero 11) of the water surface, along with counting data and physical sampling measurements of floating plastics and water hyacinths collected along a 65 km section of the Chao Phraya River. The dataset also includes detailed metadata for all captured images and field activities. All images were used as input for the object detection of the three classes 1) Water hyacinths, 2) free-floating plastics and 3) entangled plastics, which results are also made available here, together with the hand annotations performed. In addition to the data, we provide the scripts used for object detection on the UAV/GoPro imagery, as well as the scripts used for detecting water hyacinths in Sentinel-2 satellite imagery.
