This dataset encompasses the GIS outcomes of the thesis "Amsterdam on Foot - Designing a city-specific walkability index through a participatory approach." The study's focus is on collaboratively crafting a tool to gauge the walkability of each street segment in Amsterdam. This involved a mixed methods approach combining qualitative and quantitative techniques to assign significance weights to various street attributes, identified as influential for walkability by experts, advocates, and designers in Amsterdam's active mobility and public space sectors. The data for the calculation of the scores for Amsterdam was sourced from OpenStreetMap, the Amsterdam Open Data portal, the Dutch BGT portal, the Rijksinstituut voor Volksgezondheid en Milieu, and Rijkswaterstaat. This dataset, presented as a GeoPackage, is compatible with standard GIS software.
