This dataset contains:
- the questions and answer options of a questionnaire on model complexity (‘Questionnaire.pdf’)
- the answers to a questionnaire on the topic of model complexity (‘Questionnaire_responses.xls’)
This questionnaire was sent out in mid-October 2018 and closed on 12 November 2018.
The objective of the study was to investigate the geoscientific community’s views on complexity in models.
No specific grant was used for this research.
The results are published in a special-issue paper in Catena on women in geosciences as:
Baartman JEM, Melsen LA, Moore D, Van der Ploeg, MJ, 2020. On the complexity of model complexity: viewpoints across the geosciences. Catena 186: 104261. https://doi.org/10.1016/j.catena.2019.104261
