Dataset
This dataset provides all data used in the peer-reviewed article entitled: "Rivers running green: water hyacinth invasion monitored from space" and available at: https://iopscience.iop.org/article/10.1088/1748-9326/ac52ca.
In particular, the dataset presents the time-series of hyacinth coverage retrieved from Sentinel-2 satellites over the Saigon river, Vietnam. In addition, in-situ data on organic material collected at the Saigon river, in Ho Chi Minh City in 2018 are also provided. This dataset was used to assess the robustness of the hyacinth coverage estimated from the Sentinel-2 images. Lastly, hydrometeorological variables for the years 2018 and 2019 are also included, as they were used to investigate the temporal variability in hyacinth coverage.
