Dataset

This data set contains the data collected from a down-flow soil column experiment studying the effects of enhanced weathering on soil quality and CO2 sequestration. The aim of the study was to quantify and compare the enhanced weathering potential, including effects on both soil quality and CO2 sequestration, of five different silicate minerals/rocks, namely olivine, basalt, wollastonite, anorthite, and albite. The soil column experiment was conducted for 64 days in a conditioned room. Soil columns contained 150 g of soil on which one of the silicate minerals was applied. Every two to four days, 40 mL de-mineralized water was added to the columns, after which leachate was collected and analysed. The data set contains one file with analyses conducted on the leachate during the experiment and one file with the analyses of the soils after the experiment. Further details can be found in the related paper published in Frontiers in Climate in 2023.
