We collected economic city profiles from the sentences expressing city’s development targets from three economic and social development plans, urban plans and land use plans at national, privincial and municipal levels in China. At the national level, only crucial sentences about regional development of the Great Pearl River Delta as a whole is given by the central government. At the provincial and municipal levels, a collection of economic city profiles in the Great Pearl River Delta was derived from provincial and municipal planning documents.
