Dataset and script for "Habitat-forming species trap microplastics into coastal sediment sinks"
The purpose of the study was to investigate mechanisms of plastic trapping in nearshore coastal ecosystems. For this, we conducted field flume experiments so we could measure plastic trapping rates under controlled hydrodynamic conditions in situ.
The dataset contains hydrodynamic data, information on biogenic habitat structure, and observed microplastic trapping rates.
