The dataset include visual counting data of floating plastics at three locations at the Hong-Duong bifurcation, in the Red River in Vietnam; the daily river discharges at stations Hanoi and Thuong Cat from May 2021 to May 2022; and the open ERA5 hourly wind data at the Hong-Duong bifurcation area. The dataset were used for assessing impact of hydro-meteorological forcing on floating plastic transport.
