This dataset contains data related to an in vitro study investigating the anticandidal effects of photodynamic therapy (aPDT) on Candida albicans biofilms using bisdemethoxycurcumin (BDMC) and potassium iodide (KI) as photosensitizers. The dataset includes measurements of biofilm viability, quantified as colony-forming units (CFU), and reactive oxygen species (ROS) generation. Data is provided in four sheets within a single Microsoft Excel file. All values within the dataset are presented as the mean of replicates.
- Sheet 1: Log CFU Remaining: This sheet contains data for the remaining viable Candida albicans cells (CFU/mL/biofilm) after aPDT treatment at various energy densities.
- Sheet 2: Log CFU Kill Count: This sheet contains data for the reduction in viable Candida albicans cells (CFU/mL/biofilm) after aPDT treatment.
- Sheet 3: APF Data: This sheet contains data for hydroxyl radical levels, measured using the APF fluorescence probe, following aPDT treatment.
- Sheet 4: DMA Data: This sheet contains data for singlet oxygen levels, measured using the DMA fluorescence probe, following aPDT treatment.
Experimental conditions, including photosensitizer concentrations, light irradiation parameters, and control groups, are described in detail within the associated manuscript.
